Simple, strong, timeless
Every dsd 164 app, from a 2011 game to a 2026 racer, follows the same short list of principles. They have not changed, because they do not need to.
The list
- Free means free. No ads between rounds, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no energy timers. If a game needs money, it finds an honest mechanism (Outburn 87's skyplane banners are scenery you can charter, not adtech).
- No tracking. No analytics SDKs, no identifiers, no accounts. Scores stay on the device. Privacy policies short enough to actually read.
- Small and offline. Megabytes, not gigabytes; aeroplane mode is a supported platform.
- Maintained, for real. Snake '97 has been updated for fifteen years across seven generations of phones. Ship it, then keep it alive.
Where it comes from
The founder's personal site carries the motto "building simple, strong, timeless software". The company is that motto with a chamber of commerce number. The 2012 version of this very website said it in four verbs: we listen, think, build and publish.
Since 2025 the philosophy extends into the open: Auscultare's source code is public.
dsd 164 has been shipping from Amsterdam since 2010. For ideas and collaborations: let's talk.
